Do you like paying taxes on property that is already your property (you did not rent it), you paid with the money from which taxes were deducted, + you paid the tax when buying a house or car. So why do you have to pay annually for your own property as if it were rented?

I believe paying taxes is a civic duty that helps fund essential services and infrastructure. But if taxes are a form of social contract, what happens when the government fails to uphold its end of the bargain? Should citizens consider withholding taxes as a form of civil disobedience when they feel betrayed by their leaders?
